Speak to me only through defiant tongues!
Collapse my heart,
Rid me of my senses!
Set the sun and set ablaze malevolence!
Punish the weakest
Of those who follow!
Hail to the fallen queen -
The mother of all cruelty!
Her hymn is suffocation!
Now, for her putrid eye,
A blade upon my tongue!
Cling to me!
I’ll pull your soul to mine
In rotting adoration!
Autophagial transubstantiation!
Rip my breath out from my lungs,
You deceiver!
I am now bound in bloodlust
unto your throne!
Speak to me only through defiant tongues!
Collapse my heart,
Rid me of my senses!
Set the sun and set ablaze malevolence!
Punish the weakest
Of those who follow!
O, Darkest Mother!
All but for a glimpse of you!
O, Darkest mother!
All but for a glimpse of you!

Surreal does not even properly convey the emotion and utmost perfection of this work. A combination of both polarizing beauty and harshness, Kardashev continues to embark on defining the boundaries of the melodic, progressive death scene. djc062001

As someone who went backwards through Kardashev’s discography, I was surprised to see how effortlessly they leverage brutality in those older releases. Alice M.

I saw these gents open the evening for DWeF in Trier some weeks ago. The vocalist seemed terribly shy between songs and then went full-on beastmode on the vocals again; him overcoming this was one of the most metal things I have ever seen. Vi Overlevde is, excuse this, bizarrely good. Not too posty, but still with a remarkable edge and a pretty unique feel to it. Maybe I'm still carried away by the live performance, but alas! This is great. Ensomhet is... beyond words. Kom til meg! David Fischer
